VISITORS have until tomorrow to view the pages of the Lindisfarne Gospels.
Thousands of people have been to see the gospels during the book's short stay in its home region.
It is only the third time the national treasure has been to the North-East since it was seized by Henry VIII during the dissolution of the monasteries.
The gospels will remain at the Laing Gallery, Newcastle, until January 7. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 2pm to 5pm
