CAMPAIGNERS released 104 white balloons into the sky above Durham to highlight the problems of domestic violence.
Each balloon released from the city's Market Place, on Saturday, signified the fact that, nationally, two women are murdered each week due to violence at home.
The symbolic gesture marked White Ribbon Day, a campaign to end domestic violence.
Young actors from seven secondary schools, in Durham and Chester-le-Street, performed a play on domestic violence - prepared in just five days - in St Nicholas Church Hall.
