A WOMAN who has helped many celebrities find fame is taking centre stage herself this Christmas.
Dorothy Ellis, of Hartburn, Stockton, is playing Robina Hood in the Bruvvers Theatre Company's production of Babes in the Wood at the town's Arc centre.
Ms Ellis runs the Northern Academy of Dramatic Arts in Gateshead, and has passed on her skills to the likes of Donna Air, of Channel Four's Big Breakfast fame, and Greg Maclane who starred in the North-East film Purely Belter. Her part in the Arc's pantomime is Ms Ellis's first professional role on Teesside, although she has performed on stage in other parts of the country.
She said: "I am thoroughly looking forward to performing on home territory."
Babes in the Wood runs from Tuesday, December 12, until Saturday December 30, except for Sundays, Mondays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
