A GROUP of young singers have an important date this weekend.
Twenty five girls from the senior choir of Teesside High School, Eaglescliffe, will be performing with the North Yorkshire Chorus at a concert, in Harrogate on Saturday.
The Music for Advent concert, at St Wilfrid's Parish Church, will feature choral works and a recorder concerto by the German composer, Schickhardt, performed by Teesside pupils.
The school's director of music, Suzanne Lloyd Jones said: "This is a really exciting opportunity for the girls."
The concerto players include Sarah Clarkson, 18, from Longnewton, Laura Bury, 14, from Middlesbrough, Laura and Irene Anderson, 12, from Washington. They will be accompanied on the cello by Emily Woods, 15, of Yarm.
The concert is at 7.30pm, and tickets are £8, from (01423) 537300.
