Cleveland Men's Super League
Guisborough lost 4-3 at home to Billingham Green. Man of the match Gary Stephens (27.83) beat Lee Smith (24.09) 3-0 and Norman Stringer (20.50) beat Ian Greenwood (19.24) 3-0, putting the visitors two up. But the teams were soon level when Geoff Edwards (22.77) beat Kevin Stephens (19.79) 3-0 and Paul Limon (23.68) beat Steve Blackmore (23.21) 3-1. Billingham regained the lead with Mal Cairnie (25.17) defeating Keith Stockdale (24.33) 3-1 but in a see-saw struggle Alan Edwards (25.91) beat Jim Dunlop (23.66) 3-0 to level the match at 3-3 leaving everything hinging on the last match. Phil Hadlett (20.580 beat Mick Seaton (18.94) 3-0 to swing the game in Billingham Green's favour.
Marske gained a 5-2 win at Croft, the game played at Croft WMC Glenn Moody (23.26) opened with a win over Harry Alderson (23.25) 3-1 but man of the match Mark Durham (26.16) levelled the match when he beat Steve Robinson (25.21) 3-1. Andy Cree (23.68) beat Keith Gowland (21.88) 3-2 to make it 2-1 to Marske but Andy Ford (23.17) levelled when he beat Tony Mitchell (23.43) 3-2.
But then Marske took control with Greg Raines (21.05) defeating Dave Davies 3-1, Phil MacKay (24.12) overcame Andy Kelly (20.91) 3-2 and Chris Hornby (20.87) beat Keith Clitheroe (20.71) 3-0.
Stokesley entertained Middlesbrough at the Queen's Head and the visitors threatened to walk away with the match as they opened a three-game advantage through Terry Ferguson (19.52) who beat Chris Aspery (19.35) 3-0, Peter Nugent (20.88) beat Peter Allport (20.30) 3-0 and man of the match Mal Baker (26.84) beat Alan Noble 3-0. But there was a change in fortunes, led by Martyn Bulman (20.78) who beat Alan Watson (19.14) 3-1, Dave Stangoe (21.70) who beat Dave Nicholson (21.450 3-2 and Ron McGinty (22.13) who defeatedt Les Seetree (22.27) 3-2. In the decider Paul Winspear (20.920 beat Rob Corner (20.05) 3-1.
Leaders Stockton won 6-1 at home to Billingham at the Spotted Cow. The home side immediately took the advantage through Neil Young (21.17) who beat Tony Walters 3-0, Alan Snabel who beat Jack McKinley 3-1, Colin Johnson (25.05) beat Tony Liddell (20.97) 3-0 and man of the match Mark Muckian (27.74) who beat Peter Maw (24.00) 3-1. Billingham got their one point when Joe Nicholson (20.89) beat Lennie Ransom (20.59) 3-2. Mick Whittaker (21.85) beat Col Wakenshaw 3-2 and Brian Boulton (23.86) beat Andy Huskinson (20.94) 3-0 to complete Stockton's comfortable win.

Leaders Wings Club (Stockton) suffered their first defeat of the season, beaten 4-3 at home by Burn Valley SC, Hartlepool. Vera Oliphant (15.47) beat Vee Page (17.04) 3-2 and Sonya Hepple (15.09) beat Jackie Allison (14.49) 3-1 to give the visitors a perfect start. Molly Pywell (17.80) beat Dorothy Pounder (14.97) 3-1 and lady of the match Pat J Smith (17.59) beat Pat A Smith (16.46) 3-1, making the score 2-2. The visitors took the lead when Claire Stainsby (17.80) beat Jean Hagan (16.67) 3-0. The pairs were shared 1-1.
The M and D Club won 5-2 at the Cricketers Arms, lifting the first four matches through Agnes Bootman (13.62) who beat Louise Allan (12.790 3-1, Gail Carhart beat Jane Andrews (12.170 3-0, Tina Watson beat Trish Manton (11.65) 3-1 and Mavis Parkinson (12.27) beat Karen Monaghan (12.06) 3-2. The Cricketers' first point came from lady of the match Marj Gunn (15.82) who beat June McLoughlin (12.13) 3-1. The pairs were shared.
Home side The Royal (Hartlepool) defeated Billingham SC 6-1. Mandy Stephens (12.74) beat Ellen Humble (13.02) 3-2 to put the visitors one up, but from then on it was all downhill as lady of the match Julie Sorby (19.78) beat Joyce Dunlop (12.41) 3-0, Jean Atkinson (14.10) beat Pauline Heal (11.52) 3-1, Babs Evans (13.79) beat Chris Cole (11.170 3-0 and Jean Robinson (15.34) beat Wendy Graham (14.380 3-0. the home side also won both pairs.

Cleveland are away to Gloucestershire in the British Inter-Counties Championship, Division Four, on the weekend December 9-10.

Willington League
League leaders the Victoria Club went down to their first defeat of the season when the visiting Prospect Club won by two points. The Victoria are still four points ahead of the Burn Inn with Hunwick Joiners Arms nineteen points behind.
There were four maximums last week. They came from Ian Breen of the Victoria Club, Geoff Maddison of the Prospect Club, Stuart Gill of the Joiners Arms and Arthur Burnham of Cottles.

The top two teams have opened out a big gap with Crook Mill House leading Crook Three Blue Bells, who have a match in hand, by three points. The Crook Coach and Horses are in third place but are 16 points behind the Bells.

Tow Law New Market B extended their lead on the third placed, Crook Queen's Head to six points after they won by three points at Willington Lion and Unicorn. There seems to be no chance of anyone catching the unbeaten Crook Coach and Horses, who are 30points clear despite being held to an odd point victory over the visiting Travellers Rest.

Tow Law Bass League
The gap at the top is widening with Billy Row Club and Esh Stag's Head well clear of the field. The Club lead the Stag's Head by 12 points the rest of the league are a further 13 points adrift.
At the start of the season Esh Football Club were considered serious title challengers but the visiting Billy Row Club took all three doubles points to retain their unbeaten record after both the trebles and the singles had been shared.
The leading individual scorers were D Metcalfe with two 140s for the Stag's Head, M Bell 140 for the Station, G Beveridge 140 for the Moss Inn, S Boughey 140 for the Cattle Mart and C Marley 140 for the Comedian.
The best start was 110 by C Boughey of the Cattle Mart.
