RESIDENTS are being urged to give their views on proposed traffic calming measures in part of their town.
The proposed measures would be in the Woodham area of Newton Aycliffe.
Durham County Council is planning to make the improvements in light of mounting concern from residents regarding speeding traffic.
The plans focus on Pemberton Road and Stag Lane, and the council has set aside funds to carry out the work.
Adrian White, the council's area traffic engineer, said: "We intend to install round topped road humps at various locations on the two roads, but only if residents in the area support the proposal.
"There have been a number of complaints in recent months from residents to local councillors. They are concerned about the speeds of vehicles using the two roads, and our own speed survey has supported those claims."
Anyone with queries about the proposals should call Durham County Council on (01388) 602028, before December 15
