PARENTS who recently lost their daughter to breast cancer have helped to establish a new lending library on the subject.
Bill and Eileen Ferguson, of Stanley, donated a sum of money to the Stanley Breast Cancer Support Group to start the library. The couple recently lost their 25-year-old daughter Lisa to the disease.
The books are a mixture of informative and personal stories about cancer. They are dedicated to Lisa with the inscription 'a shining example of courage an inspiration.'
John and Joanne Taylor, of Stanley, have also donated £287 to the library after raising the cash at a canoe challenge.
The Stanley Breast Cancer Support group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at Stanley health Centre. Anyone interested can go along or call Coping With Cancer North-East on (0191) 268 0011.
