COUNCIL officials are asking cyclists how County Durham can be made a better place for them.
The county council is seeking views on its draft cycling strategy, which aims to encourage more people to get on their bikes.
The county has 100 miles of off-road cycling routes, 18 miles of on-road routes and 82 miles of National Cycling Network routes.
The strategy includes targets to reduce the casualty rate for cyclists by 30 per cent in 15 years, encourage more children to cycle to school, and encourage investment in cycling facilities in towns.
Copies of the draft strategy are available at libraries and council offices, and in the travel section of Durham County Council's website www.durham.gov.uk
Comments must be submitted by Friday, December 15. The final strategy will be prepared next spring
