MUSIC students are planning to give hit rock and pop songs the acoustic treatment at a series of unplugged sessions.
The Live and Unplugged concerts - based on the highly popular format pioneered by MTV - will be performed by second year students on the BTEC National Diploma in Popular Music course at New College.
They are taking place next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the staff common room on the college's Framwellgate Moor campus.
Earlier this year, students on the course collaborated with counterparts from other departments to stage a revue of the pop sounds, hairstyles and fashions of the 1970s.
This time, the concerts will involve students from the college's media, communications and productions courses who will be making a fly-on-the-wall documentary about the rehearsals, and shooting footage of the concerts.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the music starts at 8.15pm.
Tickets cost £3.50 (£2.50 for concessions) and are available from concert coordinator Sally Jewers on 0191-375 4042
