A CAR dealership has pledged its support for an anti-arson initiative by supplying organisers with transport.
Arriva's Peugeot dealership, in Longlands Road, Middlesbrough, has donated a new Peugoet 206 van to the Arson Investigation Team, set up by Cleveland Police and Fire Brigade.
The team, designed to fight a type of crime which nationally costs the country £25m a day, will be launched in the New Year with the help of voluntary and statutory organisations across the region.
Arriva Middlesbrough already supplies Cleveland's fire and police forces with specialist fleet vehicles.
Michael Wood, the company's corporate sales executive, said: "We are very pleased to have handed over the latest model of Peugeot available to the team, and look forward to doing all we can to help in the future.
