A WOMAN at the centre of an alleged assault involving England star Kieron Dyer has been questioned by police.
The 30-year-old walked into a police station and volunteered her side of the story, after a 22-year-old woman claimed she had been injured in a brawl over the midfield star.
The younger woman claimed she was injured when she was punched to the ground by a girlfriend of Dyer's.
She and a friend, also 22, had been in a car with Dyer and Newcastle team-mate Nolberto Solano, when two other women tried to get in.
A Newcastle CID spokesman said: "A woman has voluntarily attended the West Road police station, after she indicated through her solicitor that she wanted to give her version of events."
He said she had been interviewed by detectives investigating an alleged assault on a 22-year-old woman. She had made a statement and had been given police bail.
The 30-year-old is understood to live in the Newcastle area.
