A DARLINGTON school has become the first in the town to receive a new sports award.
Heathfield Primary School was presented with its Sport England Activemark Award yesterday. The scheme rewards schools for their commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity.
Ken Churchill, who won a javelin gold medal at the recent Paralympics in Sydney, helped the school to celebrate by working with youngsters at the Eastbourne Sports Complex yesterday.
