YOUNGSTERS are being invited to keep themselves busy over the festive holidays by taking part in activities organised by Thirsk swimming pool.
Father Christmas will visit Sowerby parochial hall on December 22, to see children making decorations and mini-Santas as part of the Christmas Crackers play session.
Facilities manager Steven Lister said: "We have asked Father Christmas to call in to make sure he knows just what every child would like for Christmas.
"It will be a great pre-Christmas treat for the children, and one which we expect will be very popular."
Christmas activities begin on Thursday, December 21, with a football clinic at Thirsk floodlit pitch, from 10am to 3pm, for children aged five to 12.
On Thursday, December 28, there will be a chance to try out new bikes in a two-hour session starting at 10am. For details of events, ring (01845) 522447.
