AN exhibition of watercolours of plants opens at a North-East museum this weekend.
Plants and Places, featuring 50 paintings, is the work of botanist and artist Anne Pickering, who has been painting since she completed her PhD in botany in 1992.
On Saturday, it begins a two-month run at the Hancock Museum, in Newcastle.
Anne said: "I am looking forward to exhibiting my work at the Hancock, alongside natural history collections, where the artwork will be in context."
Curator Steve McLean said: "We are sure Plants and Places will be a popular exhibition."
Plants and Places runs from Saturday until February 18. The museum is open Mondays to Fridays, between 10am and 5pm, and on Sundays, from 2pm to 5pm
