YOUNG artist Alice Hogg has drawn on her talents to win a top prize in an east Durham painting competition.
The talented youngster was declared the winner of a "design a logo'' competition for a newly-launched Easington District pilot scheme devised to give council staff a bigger say in their workplace.
The contest was open to the children of all frontline employees at the council and four-year-old Alice's entry was judged to be the best.
A pupil at Acre Rigg Infants School in Peterlee, Alice is the daughter of Easington employee Deborah Hogg, who works at the council's Hackworth Road depot.
As part of her prize, Alice was invited to the council offices in Seaside Lane, where she was guest of honour at a presentation ceremony.
Chairman of the authority, Councillor Bill Peardon, presented her with a Barbie doll set and congratulated the young winner on her excellent entry
