POLICE investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found on a railway line have discovered he spent the afternoon in his local cinema.
Peter Evans, 47, was found on a stretch of track at the rear of The Royal Vaults pub, Church Street, Hartlepool, last Thursday, at 8pm. He had suffered injuries to his face and body, which could have been sustained during an attack or fall.
He was a person who kept himself to himself and had few friends.
Until yesterday, the last confirmed siting of Mr Evans was when he left his bed and breakfast accommodation in Stockton Road, Hartlepool, at about lunch time on Thursday.
But a security camera picked him up leaving the Warner Bros cinema, at the Marina in Hartlepool, alone at 5pm.
Police would like to speak to anyone who remembers seeing Mr Evans, from 5pm to 7pm, on Thursday. He was wearing a black jumper, dark trousers and a mid-brown overcoat with a dark brown fur collar.
Anyone with information is asked to ring (01642) 302191.
