Darlington manager Gary Bennett is looking for his players to repeat their Worthington Cup heroics as Second Division Luton visit Feethams in the second round of the FA Cup this afternoon.

Quakers pulled off a magnificent win at Nottingham Forest in the Worthington Cup this season and after a good home display against Premiership Bradford in the same competition, Bennett is looking for more of the same against the 1994 semi-finalists today.

However, they might have to wait a few days, because after heavy rain there is an 8am pitch inspection.

"I'll be looking for not just the spirit which the lads showed against Forest and Bradford, but also the same spirit they've shown all season," he said.

"Hopefully, the game against Mansfield last Saturday will be a turning point. We've been creating chances all season, and last week we managed to take them.

"We have a chance of causing an upset and it's all part of the glamour of the FA Cup. On the day you just need a little bit of luck, and an underdog can beat a big team.

"We will pay Luton respect but it will be down to us to get our game going, When I look at our players, I believe that we can cause many teams a lot of trouble.

"We gave Forest problems over two legs as well as Bradford, so if we stick to the standards which we showed against them we can win."

Quakers have won just twice in their last eight league and cup matches - against Sudbury in the first round and against Mansfield in the league last Saturday - but Bennett isn't too worried.

"I can't knock our recent performances, even though we were losing games.

"If performances were poor, then I would be banging my head off the wall, but the way we have been handling games has been very good.

"But we mustn't let in an early goal as that will make life difficult."

Quakers have conceded the first goal in their last nine matches and that has to change if they are to have a chance of progressing into the next round, when the Premiership and First Division clubs enter the competition.

Luton are second from bottom of the Second Division, but last Saturday won their first away game of the season, 3-0 at Stoke City.

Lil Fuccillo took over from Ricky Hill at Kenilworth Road last month. One of his first signings was Lee Nogan from Darlington, but the Welsh striker has played a part in only two games.
