SUNDERLAND Tomahawks led 2-1, trailed 6-2 and were level at 6-6 at 56.54 in their English Under-19 North A League thriller against Kingston Predators. But they did not gain a point from the game as Kingston struck the winner with less than a second remaining. Kristian Lloyd and Stephen Laidler put Tomahawks ahead after Kingston head taken an eighth minute lead. The visitors fought their way back to go ahead 6-2 at 45.58.
Adam Carr began a Tomahawks' recovery 27 seconds later. Three further strikes in 90 seconds from Jonathan Huntley and James Hutchinson (2) tied the scores at 6-6 after 56.54.
The game was heading for a draw when Kingston hit a last-gasp winner.

Whitley Braves had a crushing 19-2 home victory over Flintshire Avalanche in an Under-19 North B League. Braves went a goal ahead after 19 seconds and a second on the three minute mark. It was 4-0 before Flintshire got off the mark. Braves hit seven in the second period. The visitors grabbed a second two minutes into the final session but Whitley hit another, D J Good, Richard and Brian Dunn all scoring hat-tricks.

Whitley Tomahawks edged their hosts Telford Rockets 3-2 in a Junior (U-16) North A. Anthony Slassor struck after Telford had gone ahead at 18.03. D J Good sent Whitley 2-1 ahead on the powerplay four minutes into the middle session. Telford equalised only for Good's second of the match at 41.56 to give Whitley a deserved victory.

Sunderland Comanches struck their second successive victory in Pee-Wee (U-14) North A League after an 8-4 win at Nottingham Tiger-Cubs. Liam Telfer (2) and Shaun Kippin had Commanches 3-0 ahead at 6.07. Nottingham cut the deficit four minutes later. Telfer hit two more before the home side grabbed a second. Jamie Smithson bagged a brace in the 29th minute. Nottingham scored twice on the powerplay only for Kippin to wrap up the scoring in the final minute.

Sunderland Apaches cruised to a 12-1 win at Billingham Coyotes in English U-10 North A League. Callum Davies gave the Wearsiders the lead at 6.48. Joshua Lalande scored twice in the 16th minute for a 3-0 first period lead. The final period was seven seconds old when Tom Nattress struck for Coyotes. Grant Sharp responded with four goals in as many minutes for a 7-1 lead. Michael Elders added another before four goals in the final minutes.

In the same competition Whitley Bay Mischiefs had a 10-0 victory at Hillheads over Blackburn Merlins. Nathan Salem began the onslaught with a goal after 43 seconds and Callum Watson a second at 1.28. Adam Perrie (2) and Bobby Mole increased the lead to 5-0 after the first period.
Perrie struck twice in the 23rd minute and 30th for a five goal haul. Watson and Salem finished off the scoring in the final minutes.

Sunderland Scorpions dropped their first point of the season in the women's premier league. They were held to a 1-1 draw at Kingston Diamonds. who led by a 15th minute goal until Lynsey Emmerson scored in the 31st minute. Kingston's netminder Dawn Dickinson halted Scorpions' 100 per cent record with some fine saves.

Whitley Bay Squaws' Women's Division One North encounter at Telford Wrekin Raiders was abandoned after 31 minutes due to a power failure. Claire Oldfield (2) and Sarah Christie scored Squaws' goals with the score at 3-3.
