RESIDENTS in the Stokesley area are being invited to get into the Christmas spirit with a carol singing event in the town.
The event is organised by Stokesley Churches Together and is supported by Stokesley company Marlow Foods Ltd, which produces Quorn.
Music will be provided by Guisborough Salvation Army and organisers are expecting more than 400 people to attend, to make this year's event the best ever.
The Reverend Keith Parr, chairman of Stokesley Churches Together, said he was delighted at the continuing success of the event.
"We welcome everybody to come and join in the festive fun and make this event the most successful yet. To continue with the joyful spirit, singers are invited to stay for complimentary coffee and mince pies."
Nigel White, marketing director for Marlow Foods, said: "This event has grown in popularity and is now an important occasion in the community calendar. As many of our employees live in and around Stokesley, we are happy to bring this opportunity to the community and to create some seasonal cheer."
The event takes place on Monday, December 18, from 7pm, on the West Green, Stokesley, and everyone is welcome to go along and join in. Revellers are advised to wrap up warm, bring torches - and be in good voice.
