ARTIST Paul Denham has created an enchanting winter wonderland in the grounds of a Medieval castle.
Mr Denham, who works at the Art Shop, in Bondgate, Darlington, has made a grotto in the gardens of Raby Castle, County Durham, to mark Santa's first visit to the attraction.
The grotto features two winter scenes painted by Mr Denham, to give visitors a realistic image of Santa's home, and he has included woodland animals peeping through the undergrowth on the path to the cabin.
All the fir trees used to create the pathway to the grotto have been grown in the grounds of Raby Castle, and dozens of children have already visited Santa.
Adult visitors can pick up Christmas gifts, cards, decorations and trees from the castle's shop.
