A WOMAN jumped to safety from a first floor window following a fire at her home in Marske.
Firefighters called to Dovecote Close just after midnight yesterday used one hose reel, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera during the operation to extinguish the blaze, thought to have been caused by a television.
The woman, in her fifties, jumped out of a window or skylight on to the first floor roof. A man who called the fire brigade managed to get out of the house. The family's two cats died in the blaze.
The woman refused to go to hospital, although she was suffering from shock and smoke inhalation
