ANGELIC young voices chose a fitting North-East landmark to launch a charity Christmas record.
Singers from Rickleton Primary School, in Washington, and Fencehouses YMCA, near Chester-le-Street, joined forces to perform the specially-written song, Year of Friendship.
They made an open-air debut public performance, under the Angel of the North, following intensive rehearsals.
Rickleton music teacher Jill Sandeman said it proved exciting for the 11 members of the school choir involved.
Year of Friendship was written by Dave Chapman and Ken Lovatt to raise awareness of Sunderland's Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYD & CP).
Profits from sales will go to Sunderland Council for Voluntary Services (CVS), which runs EYD & CP.
Copies, costing £3.50, are available from stores and sports centres, or from the CVS, at Riverview House, West Wear Street, Sunderland.
