A PUB owner was yesterday ordered to pay up or shut up by London's High Court.
Stanley Laws, of the Shoulder of Mutton, Low Row, Easington Village, Peterlee, faced legal action for playing music at the premises without a licence and now he faces the threat of jail if he disobeys a music ban imposed on him.
Mr Laws was banned yesterday from playing any more music at any of the premises he runs, until he has brought his music licences he requires up to date.
If he disobeys the ban and does not turn any premises he runs into a music-free zone until all licence fees are brought up to date, he will be in contempt of court.
In addition to prison, he could also face a hefty fine.
As a result of yesterday's court proceedings, he can now expect a legal bill for £1,040
