BREWERY workers were forced to give up the beer themselves recently so they could get into shape and to put their best foot forward for child cancer victims.
The 22 staff from Newcastle Breweries climbed the 4,400ft peak of Britain's biggest mountain Ben Nevis to raise £2,200 for the children's cancer research department at the Royal Victoria Infirmary hospital in Newcastle.
Organiser Mick Scrimshaw said: "We wanted the money to go to a good local cause and it was an overwhelming decision to pick the children's cancer unit at the RVI."
