PARENTS have been receiving special training in how to look after their children.
The Stockton Borough Council-backed scheme offers accredited training, practical support, guidance and advice to parents and guardians of children and young people aged between eight and 16.
Claire Cullum, Parenting Plus coordinator with the council, said yesterday: "There are a lot of courses for parents and guardians of very young children.
"However, I don't know of any others which specialise in helping the parents of teenagers. This course offers parents the support and advice they need to handle the often difficult situations which arise as children are going through their teens."
