REDCAR musician Kate Chisholm is to fulfil one of her dreams by playing at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday.
Kate, aged 21, is a music undergraduate at Huddersfield university and has recently joined the British Telecom brass band playing her flugel horn. The band has been invited by its sponsor to perform at the gala concert night.
Musical rivalry plays a big part in the Chisholm family; Kate's brother, James, plays for the Ever Ready band and is considering taking his law degree in Huddersfield so he can join one of the big Yorkshire bands.
Kate's ambition is to play in a band that wins the national brass band championship before her brother.
Their mother, Mrs Helen Chisholm, said: "Though they are very close, when it comes to competing in music they really drive each other on and me up the wall.
"When they are at home rehearsing for their performances we have to set a timetable in the music room.
