THE Tyne Tees Regiment - which includes Territorial Army soldiers from the Green Howards, Durham Light Infantry and the Northumberland Fusiliers - has a new commanding officer.
Lt Col Duncan Hopkins was the commanding officer of the 4/5 Battalion the Green Howards, based at Coulby Newham, before the Tyne Tees Regiment was formed in 1999.
Now based at Gilesgate Armoury in Durham, he takes over command from Lt Col Charles Lynch-Staunton.
Lt Col Hopkins spent the intervening six months serving in Kosovo.
