SUNDERLAND'S Stuart Potts, Billingham's Richie Thornton and Newcastle Jesters' David Clarke are in the Great Britain Under-20 squad for Division Two of the world championships at Vilnius, Lithuania, between December 30 and January 5.
Sunderland Tomahawks suffered their fourth defeat of the season in the English Under-19 North A League on Sunday, losing 6-4 against Kingston Predators. Kingston took the lead after 31 seconds, doubling on the powerplay at 13.37. Tomahawks were back in the tie 30 seconds later when Kristian Lloyd was on target. Sunderland paid the price of a four-minute penalty on Michael Allinson when Kingston scored twice in 51 seconds. Tomahawks struck a second through James Hutchinson. There was only nine seconds gone in the final period when Adam Carr added a third Sunderland goal. Kingston were short-handed when they recorded a fifth at 46.40. Hutchinson's second of the night came on the powerplay in the 51st minute to reduce the deficit to one. This was short-lived, however, as Kingston restored their two-goal cushion 50 seconds later.

Whitley Tomahawks faced Fife Flames in Kirkcaldy on Sunday, playing an Under-16 challenge game, winning 3-1.

Billingham Falcons defeated Telford Tiger Cubs 4-2 away on Saturday in the English Pee-Wee (Under-14) North A League.
Falcons got off to a good start when Steven Pritchard gave them an early goal. This was doubled at 14.47 through James Udell.
Telford were thwarted by Richard Griffiths who made five saves and was Falcons' man of the match
Robert Dowd hit a third three seconds from the interval and the same player extended the lead after 38 minutes. Telford came back with two consolation goals but the result was never in any doubt.

Sunderland Commanches home match against Nottingham Tigers was not played after the lace city club could not raise a team. Subject to ratification the match is being given a 5-0 win on default to Sunderland.
Whitley Arrows were 13-3 winners at home over Bradford Ice Knights in English Bantam (Under-12) North B League.
Bradford went ahead after 19 seconds but Whitley equalised through Jamie Tinsley and he put Arrows ahead. Shaun Lee (2), Nathan Salem (2) and Sam Zajac made it 7-1 by 11.21.
Five minutes later Bradford scored a second and Whitley established an 11-2 lead by the time the visitors found the target for the third time. Two late Whitley strikes saw them easily home at 13-3.

Billingham Pumas lost twice at the weekend in Under-12 North A League. Ben Moore (2) and Jake Roberts were the scorers with assists from Daniel Hughes and Steve Charlton in the 21-3 home loss against Telford Terrahawks. Twenty four hours later Moore was the lone scorer in the 16-1 defeat at Kingston Rivermen.
Billingham Wildcats are back on top of the Women's Division One North after a 5-1 home win over Sheffield Shadows.
Vicky Wallace put the home side ahead before Shadows equalised five minutes later. The only goal of the middle period went the way of Wildcats as Zoe Bayne struck in the 38th minute. Wildcats player-coach Julie Hall received a five plus game misconduct for unnecessary roughness. Jenny Smith in Wildcats' net was in fine form as she stopped everything Sheffield could throw at her.
Wildcats soaked up pressure and extended their lead to 3-1 at 54.36 through Vanessa Hill. Bayne completed her hat-trick with goals at 56.32 and 58.26.
