Darlington skipper Martin Gray last night called on his teammates to take advantage of Luton's home misery.

Gray leads Quakers into action at Kenilworth Road tonight for their second round replay hoping to upset the Second Division side and earn a home tie with QPR in round three on January 6.

And even though Quakers have lost their last four away games in Division Three, he believes they can still triumph.

"We must start the game well and not concede an early goal,'' he said.

"If we can do that, then Luton will become more and more apprehensive as the game goes on.

"Their confidence won't be high, because they lost at home on Saturday and they won't be looking forward to us going down there.

"They're next to bottom of the Second Division, so morale won't be very high."

Quakers have won just twice away this season, but one of those was at Nottimgham Forest in the Worthington Cup and Gray said: "We still have the incentive of a home draw in the next round.

"We must be positive in our early play by taking the game to them and not letting ourselves be pushed back.

"If we make sure we do things right early on, then we can cause an upset.

"We did well against Luton at home. We played some good stuff against them and their keeper pulled off a couple of good saves."

And defender Adam Reed echoed Gray's call. "We didn't see anything to be scared of in the first game," he said.

"The FA Cup is a different proposition to the league, and anything can happen in these sort of games.

"If we don't let an early goal in, then we can win the game because their home form isn't very good. They've got a poor defensive record as well, so there's no reason why we can't score goals."

Manager Gary Bennett might be forced into one change to the team which lost 1-0 at Orient last Saturday.

Gary Himsworth picked up an ankle injury when he collided with an advert hoarding and will have a fitness test.

He may be tempted to bring Richard Hodgson back into the line up. Quakers will be without new signing Dave McMahon, as he wasn't signed seven days before the first game at Feethams.

But if Quakers win and reach the third round in the normal manner for the first time in three years, then he will be eligible for the next round.

Luton have fared badly at home this season, and suffered their seventh defeat at Kenilworth Road in the league last Saturday, when Colchester won 3-0.

They included former Darlington striker Lee Nogan in their line up last Saturday - and he is likely to keep his place because Mark Stein is suspended.

Manager Lil Fuccillo thinks that there's a hoodoo on his players at Kenilworth Road. "The players seem to be frightened at home,'' he said. "I'm not sure if it's down to the pressure on you to entertain the fans.'
