GENEROUS customers from a Northallerton supermarket have raised cash for a local charity.
The town's Mayor, Councillor Jack Dobson, visited Somerfield to be presented with a cheque for £200 for Hospice Homecare.
The charity has been adopted as the mayor's main cause for this year.
The mayoress, Hilary Dobson, is vice-chairman of the charity.
Sue Thompson and Maggie Spence, from Somerfield, organised a tombola and chose to donate the proceeds to the charity because they felt it was a good local cause.
Coun Dobson said: "Well done Somerfield. This cheque is gratefully received."
