FOUR primary schools in Hartlepool have earned a seal of approval from a Government agency for providing high standards in education.
Brougham, Grange, Holy Trinity and St Bega's received the Quality Mark from the Basic Skills Agency during a ceremony at the civic centre.
It brings the total number of primary schools in Hartlepool to win the award to 17, out of 30 in the borough.
Schools must meet ten criteria such as improving performance in basic skills, and involving parents in developing their children's skills.
Assessment is carried out by council officers and, once granted, it lasts for three years.
