DETECTIVES are hunting three youths who attacked a woman from behind and stole her handbag.
The trio approached the woman while she was walking in a lane between Branksome Terrace and Salisbury Terrace, in Darlington.
The incident happened at 6pm on Thursday, December 14. Police in Darlington are appealing for the public's help in catching those responsible.
Officers say the attack left the woman with bruises on her knees and scratches on the chin.
The youths made off with the woman's handbag containing a large quantity of cash.
Detective Constable Malcolm Lear, of Darlington CID, said: "This was a nasty incident which left the woman shaken, and we are making an appeal for witnesses."
