YOUNG chefs showed the spirit of Christmas by cooking festive feasts for primary school children.
Catering students from Blakeston Comprehensive, in Stockton, undertook the task of feeding 340 youngsters from the town's Harrow Gate Primary School.
The chefs, aged 14 and 15, prepared seasonal treats for three festive feasts.
Debbie Collinson, the head at Harrow Gate, which has been awarded a Charter Mark for excellence, said: "The catering students made sandwiches in fancy shapes, sausage rolls, shortbread Santas, crispy cake puddings and jellies.
"It meant a lot of work, but they rose to the challenge."
Blakeston headteacher Ian Robertson said: "This was a great thing for our students to do. It was good for them to have such a huge and important task, and it was nice for the younger children too."
