TECHNOLOGIES for the Future - Interprise 2001, is a major business to business event to be staged by the County Durham Development Company (CDDC) in March.
The event echoes the Regional Economic Strategy's goal of "building a diversified, knowledge driven economy by establishing an entrepreneurial culture" and recognises the key role that the region's universities have to play in achieving that goal.
The University of Durham sees Interprise 2001 as an exciting initiative and one that offers an opportunity for its academic staff to display their world-class innovations.
Glenn Turner, economic regeneration officer with the Research and Economic Development Support Service at the university, said: " An event such as Interprise 20001 provides an ideal opportunity for the University of Durham to co-operate and collaborate with companies to develop the technologies of the future."
