AN after-school club has received a £2,500 boost.
The Ferryhill Kids Club received the gift from the Lloyds TSB Foundation.
The club, in St Cuthberts Terrace, has been providing care for primary school children in Ferryhill for two years. It opens before and after school during term time and all day in school holidays.
The grant will help pay running costs and buy play equipment, a snooker table and a computer games console.
Diane Wing, the club co-ordinator, said: "This donation is great news for us at a time of year when many people's thoughts turn to those who are less fortunate than themselves. This grant will support us in our work into the new year, helping us to help many more people in our community."
The Lloyds TSB Foundation has supported more than 200 charities in the North-East this year, with grants of more than £1.3m
