MUSICAL youngsters put on a performance for hundreds of children at a North-East school recently.
About 20 children played cellos at an assembly at Abbey Junior School, Darlington.
Teachers are keen to encourage the youngsters to use different instruments, and the cello is regarded as one of the harder ones to play.
Headteacher George Ford said: "Around two-thirds of the school play the recorder, and we try to encourage our 360 pupils to try other instruments.
"The cellists played in front of the whole school, and invited guests, and they did very well."
