A TOWN quiz raised £700 for the North of England Children's Cancer Care charity.
The Bishop Auckland Civic Society quiz was held at Bishop Auckland Town Hall last Wednesday, and 37 teams of six took part.
This year's winners were Bishop Auckland Cricket Club, who pushed rivals Etherley Cricket Club, who were the victors in the previous two years, into second place.
Of the money raised, £100 came from the auction of an etching donated to the fundraising effort by Bishop Auckland artist Tom McGuinness.
Businesses and companies from the Bishop Auckland area donated prizes, for which society chairman Dr Bob McManners expresses his thanks
