A WEARDALE animal charity is appealing for schools and companies to save their empty ink jet cartridges to help pay to feed dozens of pets over the winter.
Farplace Animal Rescue, near Westgate, cares for more than 120 animals including goats, ponies and pigs.
Jan Edwards, rescue centre manager, said it was hoped to raise funds by recycling used computer ink cartridges.
Said Jan: "We will provide a free cartridge saver bin with free delivery and pick-up. As a result, we can earn valuable funds from the cartridges, which can be refilled and re-used."
To obtain a collecting box contact the centre on (01388) 517397, or send an e-mail to farplacevel on t
