DETECTIVES were continuing to question a 26-year-old man last night on suspicion of murder.
Passers-by discovered the body of a 35-year-old man in Heaton Road, Byker, Newcastle, shortly before 1am yesterday. The 26-year-old was arrested five hours later.
Police would not reveal the victim's identity until relatives had been told, but he is thought to be from Tyneside. Post mortem examination results have not been released.
