AN ice rink's future is uncertain because of repair costs.
The rink, at Sunderland's Crowtree Leisure Centre, was shut six months ago after water began leaking on to two empty shops below, in the extension to the Bridges shopping centre.
Council spokesman Irene Lucas said severe damage put the rink's reopening in doubt.
But Martin Hamilton, of Sunderland, whose daughter Olivia McCoy, 11, won a gold medal in the British ice skating championships, said: "All this talk about money is to put us off the scent.
"I think they had this in mind all along.''
