BROTHER and sister duo James and Laura Minter made the Redcar and Cleveland schools cross country championships a family affair when each won their events last Friday.
The pair, both pupils at Laurence Jackson school in Guisborough where the event was held, won the junior boys and preliminary girls races respectively.
Though the weather on the day was pleasant, conditions under foot were heavy after all the recent rain as 100 competitors took part in six closely-contested races.
The winners now go on to compete in the Cleveland Championships at Hartlepool in January.
