DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man have launched a poster appeal for information.
Clifford Maidment, 67, died from serious head injuries, six days after being found outside the Blue Bell pub, in Fulwell, Sunderland, Wearside, on December 8.
Police are anxious to speak to anyone who saw Mr Maidment travelling by train from Sunderland central railway station to the MetroCentre, at about 5.30pm, that day. He returned by train to Seaburn railway station later that evening, before 9.30pm. He was wearing a beige suit, shirt and tie, and was carrying a walking stick with a leather strap.
A 17-year-old youth, from Fulwell, has been released on conditional bail charged with manslaughter.
