CHILDREN at Cockton Hill Infants School, near Bishop Auckland, entertained staff and parents with their take on the nativity - a performance called Hosanna Rock.
More than 60 reception pupils aged between four and five took part in the production, along with a choir of 24 pupils from Years 1 and 2.
Headteacher Dr John Redman said: "We like the children to understand that as well as all the excitement over Santa, which is important, there is also another reason for Christmas.
"We try to find a new way of doing the Christmas story every year so we're not doing the same thing over and over again."
