Tow Law Bass League
IN a very tight top-of-the-table encounter, Tow Law Cattle Mart staged a remarkable home recovery to beat Esh Football Club by the odd point. After the trebles were shared, the visitors moved ahead with four consecutive singles wins from Dave Brown, Alan Brown, Steve Wilkie and Robert Hird. Robbie McFadden began the home fight-back and Stephen Boughey took the final singles.
The Mart then levelled by taking the first two doubles to set up a decider, where Malcolm Boughey and Colin Boughey of the Mart beat Michael Lugsden and Robert Hird.
The leading individual scorers were G Dodd with a maximum and 140, G Pratt with a maximum and J Sneath with three 40s for Billy Row Club, S Wilkie with a maximum and 140 for Esh FC, D Elsbury with 171 for the New Market B, CA Boughey two 140s for the Cattle Mart, B Gray two 140s for the New Market A and G. Hope 140 for the Station. A Brown had the best check out of the week with 158 for the New Market A.

Willington Darts League
The Victoria Club extended their lead at the top to eight points after they won by six points at Willington Lion and Unicorn. Willington Burn, in second place, could only manage a four points win at Hunwick Quarry Burn, but they still remain 22 points in front of the third placed Prospect Club, who have a match in hand.
There were two maximums in last week's game - John Glasper for the Prospect Club and Michael Pickering for Willington Lion and Unicorn.

Cleveland Ladies Super League
The Royal Hotel, Hartlepool, were at home to the Cricketers Arms from Stockton and the home side won the first four matches. Lady of the Match, Babs Evans (19.64) beat Shelly Chinock (16.19) 3-1, Ellen Humble (11.71) beat Karen Monaghan (12.22) 3-2, Julie Sorby (19.03) beat Jane Andrews (14.09) 3-0 and Jean Atkinson (14.33) beat Trish Manton (13.87) 3-2. Louise Allen (11.52) got the visitors first point when she beat Jean Robinson (11.44) 3-2, the pairs were shared, so the final score was 5-2 to The Royal.
It was a very close match between the M & D Club and The Sheraton Hotel, played at the M & D Club. The home side got off to a good start with Tina Watson (13.81) who beat Karen Jones (13.17) 3-1 and Barbara Bradley (12.32) beat Sheila Smart (11.30) 3-0, The Sheraton came back with lady of the match Sheila Jarrett (15.18) who beat Sandra Reed (12.75) 3-0, Pauline Crowe (13.26) beat Gail Carhart (13.01) 3-1 and Rosie Scarth (10.26) beat Agnes Bootman (10.07) 3-2, the pairs were shared so the final was score 4-3 to the Sheraton Hotel.
Wings Club was at home to Billingham Social Club. The home side took an unbeatable lead. Jean Hagan (14.74) beat Pauline Heal (11.57) 3-0. Lady of the Match Pat J Smith (16.70) beat Karen Allison (13.86) 3-0, Jackie Allison (15.24) beat Mandy Stephens (15.78) 3-1 and Rhonda Page (15.03) beat Joyce Dunlop, Billingham had no 5th player so match conceded. Pairs were shared meaning the final score was 6-1 to Wings.

Crook Ladies Darts
Tow Law New Market B, in second place, were shocked at home by Tow Law Rose and Crown who came through to a three points victory. This allowed Crook Queen's Head to close the gap on the Market to six points after they only dropped one point to the visiting Billy Row Royal George. Despite the close call for second place, there seems to little doubt as to the destination of the championship for the Crook Coach and Horses are already 35 points clear and are still unbeaten after 24 matches.
