A CAR driven by a disqualified driver crashed into a house after swerving to avoid a pedestrian.
The vehicle crashed into the side of the house in Crowther Place, Kirk Merrington, on Thursday night, when trying to avoid a man who had come out of a nearby pub and was crossing the road.
One woman was trapped in the car, but freed before fire crews arrived at the scene.
She was taken to Bishop Auckland Hospital with the driver and another passenger, all with minor injuries.
Fire crews made the car safe and there was no serious damage to the house.
Police said the driver was driving without a licence after having been disqualified.
Acting Sergeant Andy Scaife, of Spennymoor police said: "The driver has been reported for offences and is being prosecuted. But he wasn't over the limit.
