FAMILIES are being urged to offer a home to a foreign student over the New Year break.
Host UK was set up in 1987 by the British Council, the Foreign Office and the Victoria League, and branches have sprung up across the UK.
The Yorkshire branch has launched a quest for recruits to coincide with a time of year when demand is high.
However, it is always on the lookout for families willing to open their doors to foreign students unable to return to their homes for holidays.
Students looking for a placement are registered on the Host database and matched with a registered family.
