Newcastle Jesters lost their second match in 24 hours, going down 3-0 in a bad tempered encounter with the London Knights at the Telewest Arena last night.
Jesters had earlier been beaten in Scotland against the Ayr Scottish Eagles when three goals in the final periods saw Ayr home 6-5.
Last night, after a first period which saw a combined 72 penalty minutes shared between the two teams, London were 2-0 ahead.
The first came after only 90 seconds when Jesters' netminder Jimmy Hibbert went behind his net to pick up the puck. He failed to collect and Claude Jutras easily scored.
The second came on 14.14 and was an unassisted Randy Perry effort from wide on the right, which sailed past the unsighted Hibbert.
The frought first period also saw Knights' forward Dave Morrissette ejected from the game for being the third man into a fight between Eric Fenton and former Newcastle man Darby Walker.
The second and third periods saw much less penalty action and the two teams got down to playing some flowing ice hockey.
With chances at both ends it was Neal Martin who scored London's third on 37.57. In the third period Daniel Lacroix hit the post for Newcastle and the visitors had a goal ruled out after the net came off its moorings.
