SKATERS were making the most of an outdoor ice rink yesterday, in the last days before it is dismantled.
Since it opened on November 20, the rink at Victoria Gardens, Middlesbrough, has attracted visitors from all over the region.
A number of special events, including curling - or bowls on ice - have ensured its popularity for the old and young alike.
Before it closes on January 7, the rink will feature in Middlesbrough's New Year celebrations.
A spokesman for Middlesbrough Borough Council said it would be one of the centrepieces of the New Year's Eve celebrations, from 11am through to 1am.
Alongside other major attractions, the rink would host an ice magic spectacular.
He said the rink had proved a major attraction for the town.
