CHILDREN from a north Durham primary school continued their long-standing festive tradition of cheering up factory workers recently.
The pupils of Birtley East Primary School performed their annual carol concert for staff at Birtley excavator manufacturers, Komatsu UK.
The workers were treated to festive carols sung by the youngsters from Class Six while they enjoyed their Christmas lunch.
After the concert the children were invited to join managing director Keith Tipping for a Christmas meal and each pupil was later given a box of chocolates.
Class six teacher Mr Shirlock said: "Visiting Komatsu has become a tradition that the school looks forward to each Christmas."
