THE North Hartlepool Youth Action Group has turned two spare rooms at the King George V playing fields changing rooms into a drop-in meeting place.
The centre is open for young people to meet, and a coffee bar is open at weekends, serving hot drinks and snacks to players and spectators using the sports fields.
The changing rooms revamp is part of a wider project, which it is hoped will attract Sports Lottery funding, to provide facilities at the playing fields.
Activities such as mountain biking, canoeing, caving and rock climbing have been organised for young people using the centre.
